Chelsea offer £10m+swap for Barcelona star

It is conceivable that at least one new player will join Barcelona on the transfer deadline day. However, the club is also likely to see many players, including several high-profile players, leave the club.

The great striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the player currently in the position where they are the closest to the exit doors. Chelsea is quite interested in acquiring the 33-year-old player, and they have been discussing a possible trade with Barcelona for some time.

Although negotiations are still taking place to finalize the deal as quickly as is humanly possible, the two parties have not yet agreed.

As part of the transaction to sign Aubameyang, Chelsea is interested in acquiring Marcos Alonso, who Barcelona is also pursuing. Although the Catalans have been arguing for the treatment of those two transfers as two distinct possibilities, they may be obliged to agree to the idea since time is running out.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has submitted an offer for Aubameyang worth £10 million (11.6 million euros), and they have also offered Alonso in return for the player. The two teams are currently in the process of discussing the idea.

Given that Romano himself had reported before that the Blaugrana had rejected a bid worth €15 million plus Alonso for Aubameyang not too long ago, the assertion comes out as a bit strange considering that Romano himself had reported earlier on the subject.

Chelsea may be taking advantage of the limited time that is left in the transfer window by making an offer that is less than what they had reportedly offered initially. This is likely because Chelsea is aware of Barcelona’s pressing requirement to remove Aubameyang from their payroll and acquire a new full-back.

The recent injury to the striker’s jaw, which occurred when he was the victim of a violent home invasion robbery, could be a contributing cause. The striker is 33 years old. It is also possible that Romano was not entirely accurate when he published the previous amount; this could be the case.

In either case, the Italian journalist claims that the two teams are optimistic that they will be able to strike a deal over the sale of Aubameyang before the deadline. Keep an eye on this space for further updates as they become available.
