PSG have not given up on their chase of the Portuguese ace despite rumors that surfaced earlier in the week saying that Bernardo Silva is going to remain in his position at Manchester City for the summer.

Barcelona, who have ranked him as one of their top priorities for the upcoming summer transfer window, is preparing to begin negotiations to sign him the following week. However, they will face tough competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who are the current champions of Ligue 1 and have raised the stakes in their pursuit of the 28-year-old player.

According to The Times, Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly working on a deal to capture Bernardo Silva from Manchester City this summer. They are reportedly prepared to spend as much as €70 million to get the player to the French capital before the transfer window closes.

According to the source, Paris Saint-Germain is optimistic that they will be able to sign Silva if a deal can be negotiated with Manchester City. This is because Paris Saint-Germain does not have to operate under the same financial restraints as Barcelona does.

The Catalan giants have had a long-standing interest in the midfielder who is now 28 years old, and it is claimed that the player would also like to move to Camp Nou if given the choice. However, the fact that the club has not yet registered Jules Kounde casts doubt on the possibility that they will be able to recruit and register further players.

Paris Saint-Germain hopes to capitalize on this uncertainty by taking advantage of the fact that they will be in a position to offer Silva far more lucrative terms and will not be required to cope with any registration complications.

The presence of director Luis Campos is yet another point that may work in their favor and prove advantageous. Campos was the one who convinced Silva to leave Benfica and sign with AS Monaco, which is where he established his reputation and eventually earned a transfer to Man City.

It seems unlikely that the Premier League winners will accept offers for one of their key players at this late stage in the transfer season. According to reports, the club is wanting at least €80 million for the sale of Silva.

But if there is a possibility that a sale could take place, Barcelona will need to move quickly to acquire Silva or risk losing him to PSG.
